The game of rugby is one that brings about different aspects of lives but the game is a great mobilizer of people who come to cheer their loved ones or play themselves. While the game may not be well known among Kenyans, it is one of the banners that has been associated with the country owing to the prowess of the Kenyan team in recent years.

The team whose gaming name is Shujaa has been a force to reckon with in different game circuits in the rugby world, thus placing Kenya and it’s love for sports in the forefront of the world. Shujaa, which is a Swahili word that means heroes, was also the team to beat during the recent Las Vegas Sevens that ended on March 3rd 2019. Kenya played against The host country the United States of America, France, Argentina and Japan.

While the boys did well it was heartwarming for the Shujaa team to beat Japan with a great 28 to 15 win! This win further gave the team the Challenge Cup in the quarter final – a great way to wrap up the weeklong activities that made the Las Vegas Sevens a super success. But there was more to celebrate! At the Las Vegas event, part of the event sponsors, Optiven Limited were on the ground to further empower and transform the society.

While the stream of visitors to the Optiven Limited booth continued to rise over and over during the matches, it is the visit by Kenya’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Njeru Githae. Githae who spoke to George Muteti and Stephen Mbugua both who serve as Senior Sales Manager at Optiven advised that investors are looking to companies that can be trusted to deliver on their promises.

According to Ambassador Githae, a number of Kenyans living and working in the diaspora are hesitant to invest owing to the numerous scandals attached to the real estate sector. The endorsement from Ambassador Githae is a great boost to the already good work that the team in the diaspora is doing.
