As 2024 continues to unwrap subtly, the Optiven green army held a heartwarming thanksgiving service, an event that marked the beginning of a new year. The event held at the ultra-modern picturesque GMC Kitengela conference hall was a testament to Optiven’s commitment to gratitude and celebration.

Donned in all white representing new beginnings with a touch of green evoking optimism, the elegant GMC ambiance set the perfect tone to a delectable appetizer served by the hospitality team before the commencement of the occasion. (www.gmcplace.co.ke)

Regional manager Peter Gitonga welcomed us with an opening prayer before soul-stirring hymns filled the atmosphere with deep appreciation and reflection. The minister for the day, Bishop Phillips Katutu of the Destiny Life Church led the congregants with inspiration before dedicating the year of Big Success.

He dealt with the theme of teamwork and shared why dropping individualism and coming together would lead to greater success and better collaboration. “When we embrace the power of teamwork, we become more than the sum of our parts. We become a force unstoppable and a testament to the truth that the greatest victories are never solo acts, he concluded.

We shared a moment of entertainment from a group of the marketing team, with the energetic emcees Martin Waweru and Muchiri Muchoki following a cool transition between presentations, speakers and performance seamlessly.

Next was the Optiven leadership team taking to the stage acknowledging the hard work and dedication to the team. There was emphasis on resilience and unity as Head of Sales Rachel Ndung’e took the mantle to empower the conversion team, listen and give constructive feedback.

Joe Alando, in his capacity as the General Manger at the Global office in Karen quoted Hellen Keller, “The world is moved along, not by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker.”

The GMC deejays understood their assignment and enhanced the mood with colorful music matching the occasion. The event provided an opportunity for colleagues and partners to connect on a personal level, strengthen the bonds that contribute to Optiven’s collaborative and supportive work culture and with that came the keynote speaker, Chief Executive George Wachiuri to officially launch 25 years of positive transformation.

Through regular training, data based decisions, longer diaspora activations, diaspora dominance among others were the major strategies implemented to achieve our Big Success in 2024. The diaspora proposed actions meant that Christine Kasaya former Global Markets manager was now Associate Director for the Global Markets with Ephantus Kirika the new Head of Finance and Mercy Njoroge given the Associate Director for Human Resource and Talent Development.

Hardworking partners were rewarded, a creative team was formed to drive the company’s innovation to the next level, Director for Strategy and Operations Mary Wacuka encouraged and motivated the team in the new year and at the end of the day, we are remained,  “A boat does not go forward if each one is rowing their own way.”
