Optiven joined the rest of the world in observing the 2026 Fathers Day. The day held on 21st of June globally was however adapted as a celebration to last the whole month where the Fathers and men at Optiven are concerned. The activities begun with a friendly match with the children’s family at Mully’s Children’s Home where the Optiven FC team were hosted to a match at the home in Matuu. The match was an opportunity to bond over football while at the same time learning the rich heritage of the Mullys Children’s Home and culture.

The shift from the pitch led to the Optiven offices where the men working at Optiven had a conference on Monday 22nd June 2026. The event was an opportunity to also listen in to the invited guest who addressed different concerns that advanced conversations around men’s mental wellness.
Led by the Optiven Group CEO Dr. George Wachiuri, the conference saw Optiven men gather for a powerful session which was addressed by Pastor Chris Otieno of CITAM Syokimau. Pastor Otieno who spoke to Mr. Felix Mumo, Senior Marketing Manager at Optiven on the sidelines of the conference noted that “masculinity is a God-given mandate and embracing it in all it’s forms is a fundamental action that needs all men to understand, act on and pass on to the next generation.”

Pastor Otieno took the opportunity to challenge the men urging them to embrace masculinity with purpose and reminding them that leadership and dominion are God-given responsibilities that most times requires strength, courage, and firm decision-making. Pastor Otieno in his key note speech encouraged men to love faithfully, remain knowledgeable, and seek growth in all they do. Regarding the issue of mental health, he emphasized that vulnerability is strength and no man should struggle alone, affirming that recovery is possible with care and support.

Dr. Wachiuri concluded the conference by reinforcing exercise, wellness programs, and safe spaces as essential tools for healthier, focused, and fulfilled men. He noted that it was an honour bringing together the men of Optiven for a meaningful session centered on fatherhood, leadership, mentorship, growth, and purpose. He noted that it was a powerful moment of reflection, laughter, learning, and honest conversations — reminding us that strong men help build strong families, strong teams, and stronger communities for posterity.
Happy Fathers Day from Optiven.
