
Optiven FC is deliberately ascending in Nairobi football, building on the foundation laid earlier by winning the Nairobi West Sub County League. Following their championship in July and subsequent recognition at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Awards, the transition from sub county to county level has been seamless thanks to the successful preparation phase.
In preparation for the county league the team took part in a mini tournament with 3 other teams emerging as winners before playing 6 friendly games between August and November. “After our championship win, we took a break to refresh ourselves before the friendlies we have had and with 4 wins in 6, we are ready for the County League”, Gabriel Watare, Team Captain said.

The tournament began with a win against Express FC 2-0 on their opening match before another 2-0 win against Kuwinda One FC a week later asserting their dominance early in the league. With 2 clean sheets and four goals already, the Optiven FC Manager is calm taking a game at a time and learning from his players as the season unveils.
